The Volunteer Program hosts 3 major events throughout the year:

• CPR Saturday
• Lifeguard Games
• Volunteer Appreciation Event

The San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter has offered a one-day free adult CPR training to the community for the past 18 years.

The 19th CPR Saturday Event is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2010. We are looking for general volunteers and instructors to help us ready our goal of training over 2,400 community members in this lifesaving skill.

The 5th annual Lifeguard Games was hosted on Saturday, August 1 at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center:

Over 30 lifeguard teams from San Diego and Imperial Counties demonstrated their skills in a series of team and individual events, including submerged victim towing, shallow water backboarding, two-person CPR, 50-yard crawl swim with rescue tube, 10-pound brick carry, a first aid test and an inner tube relay.
