Alexis Gutierrez named new Board Chair
San Diego, CA, June 2009 – The American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties has named Alexis Gutierrez, as the new chair of its Board. Gutierrez brings extensive experience to the board and has served on the local Red Cross Board since 2004. Alexis Gutierrez, a business lawyer and partner in the law firm of Higgs, Fletcher & Mack LLP, advises and litigates on behalf of companies and their boards in both state and federal courts on issues involving business and labor and employment. He also has considerable non- and for-profit board experience as legal counsel and member. Mr. Gutierrez presently serves on the board of directors of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation, and as legal counsel to numerous for- and non-profits.
Gutierrez follows Marilyn Creson Brown, Vice President of Silberrad, Inc. as chair of the local Chapter. “I’m excited and eager to continue to build upon the success of this Chapter. The Chapter has grown to become Nationally recognized for it’s success within the Red Cross family and now stands as the largest chapter west of the Mississippi, “ said Gutierrez.
“I’m thankful for the time, energy and expertise Marilyn has brought to our Chapter and look forward to Alexis’s leadership and support as we tackle this very challenging economic environment,” said Joe Craver, CEO, American Red Cross San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter.
